No Longer Forgotten Fairytales
My fairytale-obsessed children (3 year old son and 4 year old daughter) can’t get enough of these stories. I love to read aloud while the kids color or play with play dough. The wonderful illustrations help with their comprehension as well as the funny voices we like to give all of the characters. The vocabulary is rich and it’s fun to hear my kids language grow!

Love, Love, Love
I love how these fairy tales are about strong, smart females and come from all over the world. Bringing back the old to our children is so important. This is a great way for our girls to learn that we are strong and smart and don't need to rely on others all the time. We can do what is right and be brave even when we are scared. A great book for boys to read as well so they grow up learning that girls are smart and brave also and they can be the ones doing the rescuing along with the boys.  A Great Read for everyone!

Family Favorite
This is a wonderful collection that my whole family enjoys. The stories are long (15+ minutes to read out loud) and are wonderfully written. As the adults, my husband and I both enjoy reading this one over and over. We refer back to these stories and my daughter often borrows from them during creative play. My daughter is four and I think we will enjoy this collection for many many years as some aspects of the story lines and real significance is above her full grasp, but still enjoyable. I recommend this book often, plan to give it as a gift, and consider it a must in our personal library. I can't want to read the new Brave and Brilliant collection.

Such a fun, empowering fairytale book!
My 5yo storyteller loves loves loves this book—and so do I! I particularly love that this book isn’t full of only blonde-haired, blue-eyed “damsels in distress”. Both the princesses and the princes are multicultural and the women are witty, wise, strong, and brave. Such an empowering book for my strong girl!

My 6th grade daughter loves this book!
My 6th grade daughter was reluctant to read this book at first because she thought she was "too old" for fairy tales, but she loves this book! She has told me multiple times how much she likes reading it. She loves the variety of stories, and she is thrilled to have a book that is so fun, fresh, and inspiring!

Did not like some of the content.
I was super excited about this book showing that girls can be strong and do the saving sometimes, but I was disappointed at the content. Stories about running away to solve their problems and lots of wanting to eat humans (and human flesh) for no reason that does not even fit into the story. Some of the stories were pretty harsh. Like 'Clever Molly'...there is a giant that eats humans, but is married to a human and has three daughters. He catches a young girl and he says he will eat her. She tries to trick him to go away by saying, "If I were you. I would put me in a sack and I would go out and find a stick to beat me black and blue." Too bad this missed the mark with such a great opportunity.
